The definition of bluegrass is being challenged. Ever since the Oh Brother bubble burst, string-bands have developed into the mainstream redefining . . . as thrash-grassers Trampled by Turtles and virtuosic-jammers The Infamous Stringdusters team up to bring you the Fly Palomino Tour in November.

A little bit of recording, a lot of touring -- that's life for the Infamous Stringdusters. The bluegrass band is well-known for its live show, and . . . The group is at work on a new album, as well as prepping for The Festy, their own music festival. Touring, though, is what the band enjoys most.

Unlike its country cousin, bluegrass has more clearly defined parameters that have kept it largely unaltered for seven decades. Their first album, . . . the Road," netted the band best album, best song and Emerging Artist of the Year awards at the 2007 International Bluegrass Music Association awards.

There’s a moment about midway through “You Can’t Stop the Changes”, the first track on Things That Fly, the Infamous Stringdusters’ new . . . arrangement.  It’s an example of the kind of stylistic diversity that makes the Stringdusters one of bluegrass’s most important bands.
